The Hackathon "Development of Fuel and Energy Complex - 2023" (hereinafter – Hackathon) is a unique educational, project and communication platform for young specialists, scientists, teachers, postgraduates, undergraduates and students of leading universities in Russia, the purpose of which is to identify and professionally develop a progressive team of talented youth to solve urgent problems facing the fuel and energy complex Russia, and the strategic objectives of the development of the oil and gas industry as a whole.
The key theme of the Forum in 2023 is "The fuel and energy complex of Russia 2050: Together we create the energy of life and new solutions for a sustainable future."
The Forum is planned to be attended by 252 students, young professionals and teachers. The best proposals and project ideas of the teams to solve the business challenges of the oil and gas industry will receive financial and mentoring support. The most successful and active participants of the Forum will make up the future of the elite of the oil and gas industry, will have the opportunity to practice in the Tatneft Group and recommendations for employment in leading oil and gas companies in Russia.
Hackathon Tasks
The main objectives of the Hackathon are:
Development of participants' creative thinking and experience of interdisciplinary teamwork on project solutions to real business problems in the fuel and energy sector of the country.
Formation of a bank of project solutions to business problems.
Training and professional development of participants: young professionals, teachers and students.
Development and promotion of a new annual creative format for the selection of the best youth representatives in the leading oil and gas companies of Russia and in the universities of the fuel and energy complex of Russia.
The opportunity for live communication of young people with managers and experts of leading oil and gas companies and the Ministry of Energy of Russia.
Selection of the best Hackathon participants for practical training in the Tatneft Group.
Familiarization of participants with the culture of the Republic of Tatarstan.
Based on the results of the Hackathon and the analysis of the results obtained, the Organizer intends to participate in the further development of projects proposed by the teams within the framework of the Hackathon, and in their practical use.
Requirements for participants
The participants of the Hackathon can be individuals aged 18 to 35 years, who are young specialists of the fuel and energy complex, graduate students, undergraduates or university students (not earlier than the 3rd year of study), in the following areas of training: "Biotechnology", "Chemical Technology", "Energy- and resource-saving processes in chemical technology, petrochemistry and biotechnology", "Ecology and Nature Management", "Geology", "Oil and Gas business", "Informatics and Computer Engineering", "Information Systems and Technologies", "Applied Informatics", "Software Engineering", "Management" (profile: "Marketing"), "Economics". The presence of recommendations from supervisors/ teachers, high academic ratings, individual achievements are welcome.
Participants of the Hackathon can be individuals with higher education and experience in teaching and research activities at a university, work experience in carrying out scientific projects as a supervisor or as part of research teams of the department (university) on a state assignment, orders of industry organizations, grants of the Russian Foundation for Basic Research / RNF and other foundations, curation of youth scientific circles and design bureaus, as well as participation in international scientific events in the specialty.
Residents of previous hackathons (2019, 2021 and 2022) are not allowed to participate in this competition. The number of participants is limited and cannot exceed 252 people.
Terms of participation in the Hackathon
Participation in the Hackathon for graduate students, undergraduates, students and teachers who have successfully passed the competitive selection is free.
Transportation costs are at the expense of the participant or the sending party. Expenses related to accommodation and meals are covered by the Organizer*.
* The organizer provides meeting and seeing off of participants at airports and railway stations in the cities of Nizhnekamsk, Kazan, Bugulma.
Russian fuel and energy companies sending their young specialists to the Hackathon pay an organizational fee of 100,000 rubles, including participation in all educational events of the International Oil and Gas Forum, accommodation, meals, and a cultural program from July 11 to 17, 2023. Transportation costs are at the expense of the participant or the sending party.
