December 18, Meeting at the International Rotary Club of Chinchwad, Pune
On December 18 a warm friendly meeting of the Russian delegation with Pune scientists and various universities’ professors took place at the premises of the International Rotary Club of Chinchwad, Pune. The organization “Rotary International” is a prominent global association of business clubs (34 thousand Rotary Clubs in different countries of the world) seeking to improve human wellbeing around the world via implementing humanitarian, charity, social and commercial projects for the good of the people, which totally coincides with the aims of the Program “BRICS People Choosing Life” and its motto “From the ecology of soul and body to the ecology of the world”.
The meeting brought together Guests of Honor from Snevardhan Research Institute leaded by Founding Directors Dr. Snehal Tawre and Dr. Lalsinh Tawre, as well as Indian pundits, professors and universities and colleges’ students.
During the meeting the project “Great BRICS Teachers” was presented. The Indian academics highly appreciated the importance of the initiative emphasizing its timeliness, relevance and enlightening focus, as well as expressed hope for deepening Russian-Indian cooperation in the field of higher education, science and research.
As part of the event, the Russian delegation members were bestowed honorific awards by Mr. Sheetal Shah, District Governor Nominee, and in the presence of Mr. Sameer Rupani, Rotary Club Chinchwad Director for International Services, Mr. Hemant Doshi, Co-Director for Vocational Services, Mr. Vijay Tarak, Assistant Governor, Mr. Mahavir Satyanna, President and Mr. Parag Joshi, Secretary.
Lyudmila Sekacheva, President of the Regional public organization “BRICS. World of Traditions”, Manager of the Program “BRICS People Choosing Life” was given the highest “International Service Excellence Award for the outstanding and pioneering contributions to the implementation of charitable, social and educational international and interregional projects, programs and initiatives”.
On accepting the prestigious award, Lyudmila Sekacheva thanked Rotary Club of Chinchwad, Pune, for recognizing the significance of the Russian-Indian social and cultural projects realized over more than 12 years, adding that the current Program and the related visit of the Russian delegation to India, first and foremost, strives to strengthen and develop friendly relation between people of two countries.
The head of the Russian delegation also underlined the importance of the intimate bond between Mahatma Gandhi, the Father of the Indian nation, and the renowned Russian writer Leo Tolstoy who the Great Gandhi considered his Teacher. The project “Great BRICS Teachers” is aimed at saving and spreading the peace-loving philosophical heritage of the two apologists of non-violence which has become “the moral compass”, “the moral guideline”, “the moral vaccine against the virus of violence that has subjugated the modern world”.
Other members of the delegation, Anastasia Shkitina, Dmitry Chiglintsev, Dmitry Kurbatov and Rahul Sharma received certificates of honor and awards in the solemn atmosphere of friendship and respect. At the end of the meeting, Russian and Indian participants of the meeting exchanged their views on the prospects of their country’s bilateral relations, as well as the role of the youth in enhancing the Russian-Indian humanitarian cooperation.
The uplifting meeting ended with a festive dinner and informal communication.
