Topic of the internship: "The policy of the great and middle powers in Eurasia."
The Gorchakov Foundation, together with MGIMO and Rossotrudnichestvo, is once again accepting applications for the already traditional InteRussia research internship program for foreign specialists in the field of history and theory of international relations, political science and foreign regional studies.
InteRussia is a unique chance to improve your analytical skills, get acquainted with the Russian scientific and expert agenda first hand, visit state authorities, take part in expert sessions at universities, think tanks and public organizations, as well as work under the individual guidance of scientific consultants , in the role of which will be the leading scientific personnel of MGIMO.
Possible research topics during the internship (the applicant can propose his own topic):
Chinese presence in Central Asia
The role of the EU in the US-China confrontation and the possibility of European consolidation on an anti-Chinese basis
US and EU policy in the “common neighborhood countries” (Belarus, Moldova, Armenia, Georgia, Azerbaijan)
Turkey's policy in the post-Soviet space
"Green agenda" in the policy of Western countries towards the states of Eurasia
Sanctions and trade wars as modern tools of global competitive confrontation
The results of the competition will be announced on September 12. All candidates will be informed about the results of the competition by e-mail.
The internship will result in an original research project of 15-25 thousand characters (with spaces), prepared by the applicant on the basis of an individual research plan in English.
Who can become a member?
Applicants who meet the following requirements at the time of closing the submission of competitive bids are eligible to participate in the competition:
foreign citizenship
age 25–35 years
residence outside Russia
Proficiency in English (at least level C1)
provision of an individual research plan on the selected topic in accordance with the requirements specified in the questionnaire
lack of labor and other relations with MGIMO (including external part-time work; also, the applicant did not study at graduate school and did not defend a dissertation at MGIMO)
Ph.D. degree or Ph.D. or postgraduate study
Applicants for the internship will be selected on a competitive basis. Competitive selection criteria include:
academic level, relevance, degree of development and feasibility of the research plan of the applicant
applicant's publication activity
academic level of the applicant's published work
the nature of the recommendations received
other research and expert activities of the applicant (participation in conferences, receiving grants, scientific internships, expert publications, comments in the media, etc.)
interview results (online)

Organizers provide:
travel from the place of residence of the applicant to Moscow and back
double accommodation in the MGIMO hostel
visa support
scholarship for the duration of the internship in the amount of 45,000 rubles
