Federal State Autonomous Educational Institution of Higher Education "Perm National Research Polytechnic University" (Perm), with the support of the Vladimir Potanin Charitable Foundation, opens applications for participation in the Summer School "Spatial Modeling of Socio-Economic Processes".
The purpose of the Summer School is to develop in students theoretical knowledge and practical skills in spatial econometric modeling of socio-economic indicators of the development of economic entities of various hierarchical levels, as well as a critical approach in selecting analysis tools, constructing adequate forecasts and meaningful interpretation of the results obtained.
Scientists and teachers of economic disciplines from Russian educational and scientific organizations (up to 45 years old, students from PNRPU - without age limit), mainly regional ones, are invited to participate in the competition.
Conditions of study
Admission to the Summer School is carried out on a competitive basis. A total of 30 listeners will be selected, incl. 10 - from PNIPU.
Training in the program is free for students. The course allows participants to improve their skills in teaching and conducting spatial econometrics research, develop their own curriculum and test it in practice at their university. Upon successful completion of studies, a certificate of advanced training is issued to PNIPU (volume - 72 hours).
Requirements for participants:
Knowledge in the field of probability theory and mathematical statistics, linear algebra and econometric analysis;
Fulfillment of one of the conditions:
Teaching the Econometrics course at a university, certified by the management of the university;
Availability of a certificate confirming completion of the Econometrics course no earlier than 2019;
Successful completion of the introductory task (test duration - 1.5 hours, a convenient date in the period from May 15 to June 15 and the time of completion must be indicated when filling out the questionnaire).
Application procedure
The following documents must be attached to the application:
Confirmation of fulfillment of the requirements for participants (certificate from the university/certificate of advanced training);
Motivation letter (1 page, A4 format);
Consent to the processing of personal data (filled out and signed).
Please note that registration does not constitute confirmation of participation in the Summer School. All candidates will be notified of the selection results by email by June 24, 2024 .
