About Africa-BRICS Youth Forum
The Africa-BRICS Youth Forum is held annually to promote collaboration and intercultural conversation between young leaders in Africa and the BRICS nations. Africa-BRICS Youth Forum provides an excellent opportunity for young African and BRICS leaders to engage in global issues, share their perspectives, and strengthen multilateral relations between Africa and BRICS. The event was successful in achieving its objectives, and the networking and collaboration opportunities created during the forum have the potential to positively impact youth in Africa and BRICS in the future.
June is an important month for South Africa, as it marks Youth Month, a time to commemorate the bravery and sacrifices of young people during the struggle against apartheid. In commemoration of South African Youth Month, the South African BRICS Youth Association (SABYA) in collaboration with the National Youth Development Agency (NYDA) and The Innovation Hub will be hosting the 2nd Africa-BRICS Youth forum from 26-28 June 2023.
Purpose of Africa-BRICS Youth Forum 2023:
The purpose of the forum is to establish and strengthen multilateral relations between the African continent and BRICS Nations. In line with SABYA’s mission of strengthening linkages, institutional cooperation and people-to- people exchanges within the BRICS nations, the forum seeks to provide youth with the opportunity to meaningfully participate in BRICS relations from an African perspective and promote collaboration and Intercultural conversation between African and BRICS youth. In building up to the South African BRICS Presidency in 2023, through the forum SABYA seeks to engage youth on fundamental challenges facing youth from Africa and BRICS in order to ensure that key challenges and solutions are presented to relevant stakeholders.
Objectives of Africa-BRICS Youth Forum 2023:
The objectives of the forum are to:
Create an awareness of BRICS as a bloc in Africa
Provide a platform for young African and BRICS leaders to participate in global issues.
Ignite an interest in Africa-BRICS relations
Create a networking platform for networking between young leaders in Africa and BRICS
Create a platform for youth to gain more knowledge on the opportunities available to them through Africa-BRICS cooperation
Create a platform for future cooperation and collaboration

Financial conditions for participation:
– SABYA will provide accommodation, local transportation and meals during the period of the forum for all participants.
– Participants or sending organizations are responsible for their travel costs to Pretoria, South Africa and back.
– SABYA will provide visa application support and assistance with issuing a permission to enter South Africa for international participants who are required to acquire a visa.
– The event will be organized in compliance with South African health and COVID-19 Regulations.
