ABOUT THE PROJECT
Russian Russian Language Ambassadors educational program in 2023 is aimed at increasing the level of functional literacy and interest in the Russian language and literature. This is facilitated by the current topics of the proposed events, their modern formats, familiarity with new tools and digital technologies in language teaching.
On 7-9 April 2023, the “Total Dictation” Foundation for the Support of Language Culture of Citizens with the assistance of the Gorchakov Fund will host educational events in Istanbul.
The target audience is young students, teachers, philologists, journalists, representatives of community-based organisations involved in public diplomacy and international cooperation, as well as everyone who loves Russian language, literature and culture. The expedition to Turkey will be the second foreign trip as part of the ‘‘Ambassadors of Russian Language’’ educational programme, which was held in Kazakhstan this year, and to be held in Azerbaijan, Armenia and Georgia.
The aim of the events is to raise interest in Russian language, literature and culture through the development of informal Russian-speaking communities abroad.
The programme includes:
public speaking training;
poetry readings;
annual event “Total Dictation – 2023.”
The project will include meet-the-artist events attended by a writer, a quiz on Russian language and literature, and also an Undervud music band concert.
Among the experts at the conference will be:
Ekaterina Guskova, Teacher of Russian as a foreign language, Author of textbooks, Specialist of the Language Testing Centre at St Petersburg University;
Shamil Idiatullin, Russian journalist and writer, Author of ten novels, Winner of the Big Book Award (in 2017 and 2020) and other awards for mainstream literature, fantasy, teen and horror books;
Victoria Karslieva, Deputy Executive Director of the Gorchakov Fund;
Maxim Kucherenko, One of the Undervud band leaders, Poet, Musician, Winner of the Voloshin Competition in the “Contribution of poetry to music” nomination, Member of the Union of Russian Writers;
Vladimir Tkachenko, One of the Undervud band leaders, Poet, Musician, Winner of the Voloshin Competition in the “Contribution of poetry to music” nomination, Member of the Union of Russian Writers.
