The Gorchakov Fund together with Mashuk Education Center announced the start of the application process for a scientific and educational programme focused on the Caucasus region.
This year’s topic: The South Caucasus: In Search of a Formula for a Common Future.
The academic advisor of the program is Dmitry Trenin, Professor at the Higher School of Economics, Leading Researcher at the Center for International Security of the Institute of World Economy and International Relations of the Russian Academy of Sciences, and Advisor to the Gorchakov Fund.
The program will include:
lectures, roundtables and panel discussions;
presentations by the leading experts in international relations, political science, history, and representatives of public organisations;
tours to see the region’s main sights.
The organisers will cover the travel expenses of the authors of the five best essays.
Who can apply?
Age of participants- 21 to 35 years old.
Specialists from Armenia, Azerbaijan, Georgia and Russia, as well as researchers who study the Caucasus region from other countries-
Researchers of international relations, political science, economics, law, and history;
Master's students, postgraduates and professors of specialized universities;
International journalists;
Representatives of public organizations in international cooperation and public diplomacy;
Young diplomats and representatives of government agencies.
Essay topics:
Integration projects in the south caucasus: prospects for participation and constraints;
The territorial factor and security policy in the Caucasus: in search of a formula for peaceful coexistence;
Caucasus, East and West: on the problems of geopolitical choice of the states of the region;
Logistics Initiatives and projects in transportation: a unifying factor or an apple of discord?
Term of participation:
The organisers cover the costs of accommodation in double rooms, meals, travel from the airport of Mineralnye Vody to the hotel and back, along with the travel as part of the programme. The Fund also helps foreign citizens to apply for a Russian visa.
The participants must pay for their travel to the venue and back, visa fees, and medical insurance valid in the territory of the Russian Federation.
