The contest is one of the initiatives proposed by the BRICS Civil Forum’s Working Group 'Vision 2050: Values and Rights of Nations.' Participants are invited to present a vision of the future which would be better than the present for the whole of humanity, and to propose long-term measures to achieve it.
Nationals from the BRICS countries, aged 18 to 45, are eligible to apply for participation in the contest. The jury will select ten winners, three of whom will be given the opportunity to attend the BRICS Civil Forum in Moscow in person.
Competition Jury:
Representatives of the BRICS national universities, with an academic degree, representatives of the Civic Chamber of the Russian Federation
Selection Criteria:
Fresh ideas, which go beyond existing banalities and simplistic generalizations
Clear argument and reasoning
Logical consistency
Awareness of existing philosophical and social debate
Round 1 (qualifying):
April 2 – contest launch
May 1 – essay submission deadline
May 15 – qualifying round results announced
The qualifying stage results in selecting 10 best essays for the Round 2
Round 2 (final):
May 31 – winners announced
The contest winners receive a certificate and an invitation to the BRICS Civil Forum:
1st place – participation in the BRICS Civil Forum (air transfer and accommodation is provided)
2nd place – participation in the BRICS Civil Forum (accommodation is provided)
3rd place – participation in the BRICS Civil Forum (accommodation is provided)
