5th Forum on Digital Diplomacy
From 29 November to 2 December, Moscow will host an anniversary event timed to coincide with the Russia International Exhibition and Forum held at VDNkh. It will focus on the development of digital technologies and their impact on the world.
The project is organised by the World of Youth Samara regional community-based organisation together with the Government of the Samara Region and the financial support by the Gorchakov Fund.
The Forum is expected to see Russian and foreign experts sharing their views of the world’s major events in the field of digitalisation, predicting trends in the development of this industry in 2024, and trying to answer questions of concern to young people around the world. The anniversary Forum will summarise the development of the digital society over the past five years.
Among the issues that the participants and experts will address are:
opportunities for preserving national identity on the Internet; the impact of digitalisation on the media;
key trends in the field of artificial intelligence; challenges to international information security;
impact of foreign policy on the digital world;
the roles of the individual and the state in the new technological era; regional aspects of digitalisation; the impact of digitalisation on the economy.
The speakers at the conference will be representatives of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Digital Development, Communications and Mass Media, Federation Council Committee on Foreign Affairs, media outlets, leading think tanks, as well as specialists in political science, international relations, and IT industry.
Eligibility
Representatives of the Asia-Pacific region, CIS, African, Balkan, Middle Eastern states and Russia are welcomed to take part in the Forum:
young specialists in the fields of international relations, political science, economics, law, journalism, and history;
IT-specialists; representatives of community-based organisations dealing with international cooperation and public diplomacy issues;
young diplomats and representatives of government agencies;
graduate and postgraduate students, as well as lecturers from relevant universities.
The age of the participants must be 18-35 years. The delegates are selected on a competitive basis.

Conditions of participation: the organisers cover the costs of travel to Moscow and back (air or train tickets), accommodation, meals and educational programme.
