Charity action “From Children to Children” took place at the Russian House in Mumbai

On December 14th the program “BRICS People Choosing Life”co-organised by IYES Foundation with RPO "BRICS. World of Traditions", begins at the Russian House in Mumbai with the presentation of the Program and the Charity action “From Children to Children” featuring the exposition of 30 wonderful pictures by students of School No. 1409 of Moscow.

Finalizing the meeting, the paintings were granted to the Head of the Charity Fund for the Protection of Children from Slums “Indian Room” Ramisa Baigireeva. The charity action was welcomed by Indian students showing interest in developing further cooperation between youth public socially-oriented organizations of Russia and India.

The Consul General of Russia to Mumbai Alexey Surovtsev, the Deputy Consul General Sergey Mescheryakov, the Head of Russian House in Mumbai Elena Remizova, as well as students of Mumbai University with the Dean of Faculty of Civics and Politics Deepak Pawar and Russian compatriots participated in the meeting.


In their greetings, the Honored Guests and Rahul Sharma, Director of International and Regional Projects, IYES Foundation emphasized the importance of the Program for strengthening friendship and mutual understanding between Russia, India and other BRICS countries, and their joy that the Program in Maharashtra state began, namely, at the site of the Russian House in Mumbai.

In his greeting, Consul General Alexey Surovtsev emphasized the importance of "From Children to Children" Action for the moral and spiritual support of Indian children by Russian schoolchildren and for uniting the youth of both countries.


According to Elena Remizova, "it would be difficult to overestimate the importance of this Program for strengthening friendship and mutual understanding between Russia and India and the BRICS countries as a whole. Rossotrudnichestvo supports this initiative, and we are delighted that the stage of the Program "BRICS People Choosing Life" in the state of Maharashtra started at the site of our Russian House in Mumbai."

The speech of Rahul Sharma, member of the Program delegation, Director of the International Youth Edu-Skills Foundation, India, Noida, was captivating. "It gives me immense pleasure to be part of this program and see how these projects are implemented so successfully. The experience I gained while studying in Russia with some of the best professors in the world allowed me to learn more about Russian culture and traditions. I think it is crucial to implement such projects strengthening ties between our countries not only from the political perspective, but also from the cultural, educational and business prism. Being the co-organizer of the Indian stage of the program, I really feel positive response and support for such projects from my fellow citizens", the speaker mentioned.

The manager of the Program Lyudmila Sekacheva held a ceremony of gifting drawings by Moscow schoolchildren to the Head of the Charity Fund for the Protection of Slum Children "Indian Room" Ramisa Baigireeva through the action "From Children to Children", prefixing it with words about the role and importance of art in bringing people of different countries and ages closer together, confirming what was said with the famous quote of Leo Tolstoy: "Art is one of the means to unite people".

The Indian students felt enthusiastic about the action and showed interest in developing further cooperation between youth public socially-oriented organizations of Russia and India.
