Every year, the Communist Party of Russia extends a warm welcome to foreign students in Russia, organizing a traditional excursion to the Moscow City Duma.
On the 29th of January 2024, students from India, Laos, and Sri Lanka participated in this enriching tradition. The visit included a roundtable discussion with notable figures such as Lyubov Nikitina, Deputy (Member of Parliament) of the Communist Party from Electoral District No. 31, Sergey Timokhov, Chief of Staff of the Communist Party Fraction in the Moscow City Duma, and Tatiana Desiatova, Advisor to the Deputy Head of the International Commission of the Moscow City Committee of the Communist Party of the Russian Federation. Mr. Robert Josh, Attache, Education Wing of the Indian Embassy, also actively participated in the event.
Expressing gratitude, Akil Mohammad, Founder, and Chairperson of the International Youth Edu-Skills Foundation, acknowledged the Communist Party for organizing these visits to the Moscow City Duma. Such initiatives provide invaluable opportunities for foreign students to gain insights into the political system of Russia, understand its laws, and establish new contacts.
Following the discussions, participants gathered for a group photo with the Deputy, followed by an insightful excursion of the City Duma and Library. Sergey Timokhov provided a brief overview of the Duma's functioning, composition, and history. The excursion concluded with a visit to the Deputy's cabinet, where participants had the unique opportunity to sit in the Deputy's chair and capture memorable photographs.
