The Russian International Affairs Council (RIAC) together with the Union of Journalists of Russia and the magazine "International Life" with the support of the Interfax news agency, the magazine "Russia in Global Politics" and the Gorchakov Foundation is pleased to announce the beginning of a new, eleventh season of the Competition of International Journalists 2023.


The partners of the Contest are the TASS news agency, the independent pedagogical publication Uchitelskaya Gazeta, the Expert media holding, the partner of the nomination for young journalists is the ANO "School Press Center".

Applications for the competition are accepted until August 31, 2023. The preliminary results of the competition (shortlist) will be summed up in October 2023.

The finalists of the competition will have a one-day educational program, which will be held in Moscow at the Gorchakov Foundation. Leading Russian international journalists will hold master classes for them: they will tell how to work in the modern information field and competently cover key events.

The special prize of the Gorchakov Foundation - a certificate that allows you to take part in any event of the Fund during 2023 covering the costs of travel, accommodation and meals within the framework of the project - will be awarded to part of the finalists of the competition, which will be determined by the Fund.


Who can participate*?

Full-time employees and other authors of Russian print and electronic media or students studying at universities at the time of application**;

Under the age of 36 at the time of applying for the competition;

Published material in the period from 1.08.2022 to 31.08.2023


* Works prepared by one author are allowed to participate in the competition. Articles written in co-authorship do not participate in the competition. One participant can submit only one work to the contest.

** Works published by students in the Russian printed and (or) electronic edition of a higher educational institution, on the Internet portal of a higher educational institution and (or) a non-profit organisation engaged in scientific and analytical activities are allowed to participate in the competition.

What works can be submitted?

Materials on international issues in four nominations are accepted for participation in the competition:

The best analytical article on international issues;

The best interview on international issues;

The best report on international issues;

The best analytical article on international issues of a novice international journalist (among students studying at universities at the time of application).

The winners will be awarded cash prizes and commemorative signs.

The prize fund is 200,000 rubles.
