The Gorchakov Fund announces the launch of the application process to join its flagship research and education programme. The event will be held face-to-face for the 13th time and devoted to new approaches in the foreign policy of the Russian Federation in the context of our country’s efforts to create a common continental space of peace, stability, mutual trust, development and prosperity in Eurasia.

The agenda will include the following points:

  • new geopolitical realities and challenges faced by our states;

  • integration projects in their expansion process (SCO, BRICS) and their growing importance;

  • joint elaboration of new strategic initiatives;

  • creation of a fundamentally new architecture of international relations involving the Global South.

Sergey Lavrov, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Russia, is expected to traditionally meet the event participants to make it the key part of the programme. During one of his meetings with the attendees, the head of the Russian Foreign Ministry described the importance of the Dialogue for the Future in the following way:

This format is aimed at enabling young people from various countries to communicate, use alternative sources to receive information about what is happening in the field of foreign policy, and try to get a feel of the main goal of diplomacy: general consensus and the balance of interests. Now more than ever, the world is experiencing a shortage of constructive approaches and positions aimed at forming a common vision of how we should move forward, not only with regard to specific conflict situations that need to be addressed and resolved, but also in a much broader conceptual sense: a common vision of where the world is heading and what regulation methods will be used.

Eligibility

Representatives of Russian regions along with the CIS, Asian, African, Middle Eastern, Latin American, as well as other interested countries are welcomed to take part in the programme:

  • young specialists in the fields of international relations, political science, economics, law, journalism, and history;

  • representatives of community-based organisations dealing with international cooperation and public diplomacy issues;

  • young diplomats and representatives of government agencies;

  • graduate and postgraduate students, as well as lecturers from relevant universities.
