The meeting was opened by the Principal of the College Dr. Shashank Krishnarao Pol, who warmly welcomed the guests and participants and wished success to the event and the program "BRICS People Choosing Life" in India.
Later on, the ceremony of lighting the traditional Indian lamp was held as a sign of a kind and auspicious event.
The manager of the Program Lyudmila Sekacheva started her speech announcing a "minute of silence" in memory of the great representatives of the two brotherly nations Tolstoy and Gandhi. "These unique philosophers and teachers of Russia and India have shown us the way to our perfection, to a life without violence and cruelty, becoming preachers of the moral way of life. And the main task of the younger generation is to apply this knowledge every day, every hour, every minute, getting better every moment" the speaker said in conclusion.
According to the tradition of the baton of the Great BRICS Teachers Project, Anastasia Shkitina held the presentation, after which there was a lively discussion and a quiz with college students on the topic of Leo Tolstoy and Mahatma Gandhi.
The theme of the spiritual and moral heritage of the two apologists of non-violence turned out to be close and clear for Indian students familiar with the main literary works of Tolstoy. The "Father of the Indian Nation" Mahatma Gandhi remains a moral guide for Indian youth, following, to this day, his humanistic postulates.
A great friend and partner of the Program, Dr. Snehal Tawre, whose speech was, as always, bright and memorable, provided great assistance in organizing meetings with college students in Pune. The Indian scientist invited the members of the delegation to write articles on the topic of the Russian writer, philosopher and thinker Leo Tolstoy for a research collection, which Snehal Tawre has published for many years, being the editor-in-chief and compiler.
The meeting at the college was held in a positive enlightening atmosphere, with each participant receiving important knowledge, with hope for the best reigning.
The guests received prizes and flowers as gifts. The members of the delegation presented all students with gift booklets and colorful flags on the theme of the program "BRICS People Choosing Life".
