The Gorchakov Fund announces the start of the competitive selection to join the research and educational programme The Diplomatic Seminar 2025 to be held in Tomsk from 25 February to 1 March 2025. The event is implemented in partnership with Tomsk State University.
The main topic of the programme is migration in international relations and its impact on shaping the world order.
Working agenda:
Changes in international migration flows
The impact of mass migration on the formation of new centres of power
Concepts, mechanisms and tools of migration policy implementation
Conceptualisation of diaspora policies of developed and developing countries
Cooperation and competition in global migration management
Eligibility:
Age- from 22 to 35
Mind that only those at the B2 level and higher in Russian are welcome to participate.
specialists in international relations, political scientists, economists, journalists, historians, and geographers;
rising diplomats and state workers;
representatives of community-based organisations involved in international social cooperation and public diplomacy;
graduate and postgraduate students, as well as lecturers from relevant universities.
How to participate?
Fill in a form on the Russian-language website of the Gorchakov Fund;
Shoot a video of motivation up to two minutes long and attach a link to it in any cloud service you use;
(Preferably) attach a letter of recommendation (from your place of work or study);
Attach your CV;
Fill in all the other boxes in hit “Подать заявку.”
Topics for the video of motivation:
The role of global migration flows in shaping new centres of power.
Migration management: collective effort or dominance of national interests.
The development of transnational diasporas and their role in strengthening international ties.
Terms of participation:
The Gorchakov Fund provides accommodation in single rooms, meals, cultural programme and visa-related support;
The participants pay for their travel to Tomsk (air or train tickets), the visa fee (if no humanitarian visa is available), and travel from/to an airport (railway station).
The authors of the five top applications will have their travel to the venue and back covered by the organisers.
