Regional public organization "BRICS. The World of Traditions" (further- the Organization) starts to do realize the International and interregional socio-cultural program "BRICS Peoples choose life". It will take place in the "five" countries from 2022 to 2025 under the motto "From the ecology of the soul and body to the ecology of the world".
The Project will strengthen the emotional, spiritual, moral and physical health of people, increase the authority and moral level of the countries at the multilateral arena of the BRICS, and will also encourage further convergence of their peoples.
The Indian phase of the program will be the first to start, which will be held from December 12 to 21, 2022 in the cities of New Delhi, Mumbai and Pune and will be dedicated to the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Russia and India, the 75th anniversary of India's Independence, the 550th anniversary of the journey of Tver merchant Afanasy Nikitin to India (further-the Program).
The principal purposes and objectives will be the unification of peoples, cities, educational institutions of Russia and India through the joint realization of the projects in the field of culture, art, education, establishing twinning ties between cities, charity, business cooperation, preservation and popularization of the cultural, historical and spiritual heritage of the peoples of the two countries.
The presentation of the Indian program will take place twice: at one of the famous venues in October in Moscow, and also during the extended press conference in New Delhi, approximately on December 12, 2022.
An important project in the field of education will be held in India, the principal purpose of which is moral education of the younger generation based on the study, preservation and popularization of the spiritual and moral heritage and ideas of nonviolence of its apologists Leo Tolstoy and Mahatma Gandhi.
The principal objectives of the educational project are the creation of the "Russian-Indian Cultural and Educational Center of Mahatma Gandhi and Leo Tolstoy" (further- the Center) on the basis of the Indian school and the establishment of friendly and educational ties between Indian and Russian schools for joint activities on the opening and further work of the Center, the exchange of experience in the cultural and educational sphere, the realization of joint projects, promotion of the Russian language in India.
To solve these problems, the Indian side has chosen the famous Delhi Public school Dwarka, which takes great interest in Russia and the work of the Russian writer Leo Tolstoy, his alliance with like-minded Mahatma Gandhi.
The Indian school has been proposed as a partner of the Moscow State Educational Institution "School No. 1409", which plans to create a Museum (Center) in its building "Great Teachers of BRICS", the main figures of which will be Tolstoy and Gandhi.
Therefore, both schools, having common points of convergence and common interests, will develop friendly and cultural and educational ties in order to enrich each other with knowledge about the language, culture, traditions, history of the other country, which will contribute to the development of bilateral cooperation in the educational sphere.
The Russian Embassy in India has assisted in establishing the necessary contacts with the Dvarka school. It has confirmed its consent to the creation of the Tolstoy and Gandhi Center on the basis of the school and the establishment of cooperation with the Moscow school for today. It is planned to sign an agreement on cooperation between both schools during the event at the Indian school.
During the program, an initiative will be realized to establish twinning partnerships between Samara, Russia, and Pune, India, which is relevant in our time when Russia is particularly in need of further development and strengthening of bilateral relationships with India and finding reliable partners in various fields, including twinning.
Both cities are of high level of development of industry, culture, education, socio-economic and tourism spheres, which will contribute to the establishment and successful development of partnerships in various fields, including business and business cooperation.
It is planned to hold a presentation of Samara with the possible support of the City Administration and the Chamber of Commerce of Pune during the events in Pune.
In order to develop Russian exports of high-quality products, goods, and technologies, the three participating cities of the program will host a Business track of the program dedicated to business missions and mobile exhibitions of products from Russian manufacturers interested in trade with India, organized by the Union of the Samara Region Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
This part of the project will end with the Anniversary action "In Memory of Afanasy Nikitin" on the territory of the Pilankara College in the settlement of Revdande (Maharashtra), near the monument to the Tver merchant and will be dedicated to the 20th anniversary of its opening in 2002.
As part of the ten events of the program, the presentation of the project "Great Teachers of BRICS" will be held at the Mahatma Gandhi Museum in Mumbai with the participation of students of Mumbai State University and at the Pune State University.
An exhibition of young artists and designers from Moscow is planned at the Russian House in Mumbai, who intend to donate their works to Indian orphanages, boarding schools and hospitals as part of the Charity event "Children to Children".
At the initiative of the scientists of Pune, an international scientific conference dedicated to the 75th anniversary of India's Independence will be held at the site of the Snehavardhan Research Institute, where the Russian project "Leo Tolstoy and Mahatma Gandhi: a Unique Heritage" and Indian projects will be presented. Together with the Institute, the meeting will also be organized by the Indian educational organization Rayat Shikshan Sanstha.
Guests and participants will be Indian scientists, historians, politicians, experts, teachers and students of Japanese universities. According to the organizers, among the honored guests of the conference will be members of the Indian Parliament, representatives of a number of ministries. As for the Russian side, the Consul General of Russia in Mumbai Alexey Surovtsev will be invited.
