On December 13, 2022, the participants of the Samara delegation held presentations of companies from the Samara region and a series of bilateral talks at the premises of the Russian House in New Delhi, as part of a meeting with Indian businessmen representing about 40 companies in large associations and business associations, including the BRICS Chamber of Commerce and the Russian-Indian Business Association.
The meeting was moderated by the head of the Samara business delegation, Vice-President of the Union "Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Samara Region" A.Yu. Popov, who opened the session with a warm greeting to Indian colleagues and participants, as well as expressing gratitude to the Russian House in Delhi, in the person of Elena Barman, and the Trade Representation of Russia in India, in the person of the head of the economic department Mikael Pirjanyan, the head of the operational department Evgeny Ostapkevich, the employee of the economic department Evgeny Burman and the employee of the operational department Mammad Akhmedov for invaluable assistance in the selection of Indian partner companies, significant organizational assistance at all stages of the preparation of the business mission and personal participation in its implementation.
At the meeting, Alexey Popov presented a report on the economic and investment potential of the Samara region, highlighting seven reasons for the attractiveness of the region for foreign partners, in particular, a diversified and stable economy, the development of the industrial and consumer market, the availability of a significant number of highly-qualified personnel, optimal logistics routes, affordable and developed infrastructure, favourable investment climate.
At the end of his speech, Alexey Yurievich expressed his confidence that "the event in Delhi will give an impetus to the establishment and strengthening of partnership business relations between the Samara region and the Republic of India and will contribute to the implementation of new business projects."
The business session continued with three-hour B2B negotiations with the participation of all members of the delegation of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Samara region and representatives of numerous leading companies in India. Agreements were reached with most of the Indian enterprises on the organization of Zoom conferences in January-February 2023 with the purpose of substantive negotiations with profile Samara companies.
During the business mission in Delhi, it was also proposed to conduct a large-scale business mission of Indian entrepreneurs in the Samara region and a number of neighbouring regions of Russia in spring of 2023.
All participants of the business meeting highly appreciated the level of its organization and noted the fruitful nature of the negotiations in an open and friendly atmosphere.
