On June 28–29, 2022, the International Forum Primakov Readings will be held in a hybrid format at the World Trade Center - a discussion platform for discussing the problems of the global economy, politics and security with the participation of leading representatives of Russian and foreign research and expert-analytical centers.
The topics of the Primakov Readings in 2022 are strategic stability, global and regional security, global technological development, energy transition and the green economy.
The forum is organized by the National Research Institute of World Economy and International Relations named after E.M. Primakov Russian Academy of Sciences (IMEMO RAS), Center for Foreign Policy Cooperation named after E.M. Primakov (Primakov Center), the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Russian Federation and the International Trade Center. The forum is supported by the Presidential Grants Fund, as well as sponsorships.
The Primakov Center and the Council of Young Scientists and Postgraduate Students of IMEMO RAS, under the auspices of the forum, will organize a youth session of the Primakov Readings on the topic "Global Security: Searching for Spaces for Dialogue".
The key topics for discussion will be:
“Crisis of the Security Architecture in Europe”;
“Central Asia: Development Opportunities and Security Risks”;
“Technological development and new global problems”;
“Energy transition: an objective trend or a political project?”.
Who can become a member?
Postgraduate students and employees of higher educational institutions and research institutes, public and non-profit organizations, independent experts under the age of 35 inclusive, specializing in global economics and politics, international relations and security, international law, sociology and demography, new and recent history.
According to the results of the call for proposals, 20 participants will be selected who will have the opportunity to make a presentation at one of the panels of the youth session of the Primakov Readings, take part in master classes with the participation of leading experts from IMEMO RAS and other organizations, and also take part in the work of the international forum "Primakov readings” on June 28–29 will have the opportunity to communicate with leading experts, former and current government officials, and representatives of the business community.
The terms of participation
The organizers cover the costs associated with travel, accommodation and meals for the winners of the competition.
Participants bear the cost of the consular fee for obtaining a Russian visa, travel along the route "airport / train station - hotel - airport / train station", medical insurance and PCR test.
How to take part?
To participate in the call for proposals, you must fill out the application form by clicking the "Submit Application" and attach the following documents to it:
an essay on one of the above discussion topics according to the standard: from 10,000 to 13,000 characters with spaces, in .docx format, Times New Roman font, size 14, spacing 1.0). The essay must be written in Russian or English;
a letter of recommendation from the leadership of the university / institute / organization (in .pdf, .jpg, .png format);
additional documents that characterize you as a specialist suitable for participation in the project (scientific articles, resumes, etc.);
front-facing photo (for use in the participant information booklet).
Applications of the winners will be published in the ongoing publication of the Council of Young Scientists and Postgraduates of the IMEMO RAS "World Development".
