The Gorchakov Fund and Rossotrudnichestvo together with the leading international media group “Rossiya Segodnya” are once again opening the application process for a new wave of the InteRussia fellowship programme for foreign journalists.

InteRussia grants foreign journalists an opportunity to get to know the Russian agenda, attend lectures and workshops by the leading media agencies, visit educational, research and socio-political events, and share experience with their colleagues from different countries.

The candidates are to take part in a rich four-week programme, during which they will have a chance to meet the leading Russian experts and analysts, as well as their colleagues form different information agencies. They will also attend practice-oriented trainings, workshops and seminars on various topics connected with their professional activity in media.

During the fellowship young journalists will take part in the Russia-Africa Economic and Humanitarian Forum in St Petersburg, as well as present their work in progress as part of the participation in Youth Day of the forum.

The framework topic of the fellowship is “Russia and Africa: the unchanging, the changing and the new.


Who can participate?

In order to participate in the selection, applicants must meet the following requirements at the close of the application process:

  • foreign nationality;

  • age 25-35;

  • proficiency in English (at least B2 level)

  • journalists from African countries.

Applicants for the fellowship will be selected on a competitive basis.

The criteria of the competitive selection include:

  • a candidate’s professional experience;

  • high quality of work published by a candidate;

  • results of the interview (online).


Terms of participation

The organisers provide:

  • travel from an applicant’s place of residence to Moscow, transfer to St Petersburg, as well as travel to the place of residence in St Petersburg;

  • double room in a Moscow hotel, single room in a St Petersburg hotel;

  • visa-related support;

  • health insurance;

  • cultural programme;

  • a polymerase chain reaction (PCR) test to enter the venue of the Russia-Africa Economic and Humanitarian Forum;

  • meals in St Petersburg;

  • scholarship for the duration of the fellowship in the amount of 30,000 rubles.

The results of the selection will be announced on May 19. All the candidates will be informed about the results via email.
