Name of the Event: IV Open Translator Contest "Your Version"
Last Date of Application: January 31, 2023
The IV Open Translator Contest "Your Version" will start on September 30, 2023, on the International Translator's Day and on the eve of Teacher's Day in Russia.
The theme of the Competition: mentoring and the role of a teacher in the formation of a student's personality in world literature.
Goal: to stimulate the study of foreign languages as a means of intercultural communication through familiarization with reading fiction in the original.
The main objective of the Contest is to identify, support and develop creative literary abilities and practical translation skills.
How to participate?
1. Get acquainted with the Regulations on the Competition.
2. Choose one or more nominations:
– The best translation of fiction from English to Russian;
– The best translation of fiction from German into Russian;
– The best translation of fiction from French into Russian;
– The best translation of poetry from English to Russian;
– The best translation of poetry from German to Russian;
– The best translation of poetry from French into Russian.
3. Independently or as part of a creative team, perform a literary translation of a prose passage or poem from a competitive task in the period from September 30, 2023 to January 31, 2024.
4. Send your work and the participant's questionnaire (for details, see in the Competition Regulations) to the organizer's email address: lingv@vounb.ru until January 31, 2024.
5. Wait for a reply letter from the organizer about the successful completion of the qualifying stage and the acceptance of your application to the main stage of the competition.
6. Wait for the summing up and awarding of the winners, which will take place on February 14, 2024 at the organizer's address: Volgograd, Mira str. 15
