International Youth Edu-Skills Foundation is one of the information partners of the International Public Diplomacy Forum InterYes 3.0.
The International Youth Forum on Public Diplomacy "InterYES! 3.0" (April 11-12, 2023) is an online forum for young representatives of the BRICS+ countries engaged in promoting public diplomacy and seeking international cooperation. Within the framework of the forum, about a hundred English-speaking participants aged 18-35 from the BRICS+ countries will take a short course of a public diplomat and take part in practice-oriented sessions aimed at the development and promotion of their countries. The young leaders will discuss issues of interaction with Russian partners in the direction of humanitarian cooperation, creative industries, sports, science and culture.
Public diplomacy aims to expand the dialogue between the citizens of their country and foreign partners. This implies an active international exchange, creation of information programs and promotion of cultures, which is facilitated by holding international youth events both online and offline formats.
Today there is a problem of insufficient awareness of the young leaders of the BRICS countries (and other countries as well) about the cultural characteristics of these countries, which prevents comfortable communication and effective implementation of joint projects by members of international teams. Many young people have prejudices, often stereotypical thinking in relation to representatives of other countries, while most of the prejudices usually do not have an objective basis. The use of the policy of "soft power" as a mechanism that promotes the creation of conditions for dialogue between states, and hence the preservation of world peace, improving mutual understanding between representatives of different countries, seems to be the most effective way to solve this problem.
Akil Mohammad, Founder and chairperson of the International Youth Edu-Skills Foundation and Deputy Head of the Russia-BRICS Project Office will take part as co-moderator of the forum along with Diana Kovela, Program Director of InterYes 3.0 and Deputy Director – Head of the International Relations Department, “Ulyanovsk – Capital of Culture” Foundation.
