IYESF in Attendance for the Round Table Conference “Women of BRICS for Traditional Values" at the Russian House



On Thursday, March 6th, the Russian House in New Delhi organized a round-table conference on “Women of BRICS for Traditional Values,” which was followed by an exhibition dedicated to International Women’s Day.


Asfia Kulsoom, Project Associate for International and Regional Projects at the International Youth Edu-Skills Foundation attended the conference at the Russian House.


The conference started with Ms Elena Remizova, Head of the Russian House, greeting the panelists of the round table conference, Ms Alipova Diana, Dr Maryam Alizadeh, Ms Bizunesh Meseret, Ms Erny Wahyuni, Ms Purnima Anand, and Mrs Ni Made Mahatma Devi, with a flower bouquet.



In their speeches, all the panelists, highlighted the role of women in different societies and cultures. The one principle that remained constant through all the BRICS Nations, was family value. Ms Alipova Diana, representing Russia, mentioned that this shared principle reflects what it means to be human. Dr Maryam Alizadeh pointed out that over 60% of students in Iran are women yet they are deeply rooted in family values. Ms Erny Wahyuni touched upon how traditionally the main focus of Indonesian women was family but over time, mainly due to increased tourism, they have started participating in society. In the last speech for the event, Ms Purnima Anand remarked that women are the unshakable force that holds together not just families but Nations.



The conference concluded with Ms Elena Remizova congratulating and thanking all the artists who shared their artworks to be put on display for the conference and exhibition.
