On April 03, 2024, Wednesday, the presentation of the “X BRICS Youth Summit” held at the “Our Culture” pavilion within the “Russia” exhibition at VDNKh, Moscow. The Youth Summit is scheduled for July 22 to 26, 2024, in Ulyanovsk Region of Russia.
The Application process for participation in the BRICS Youth Summit was launched, which will bring together young leaders from Brazil, Russia, India, China, South Africa, Egypt, Iran, the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, Ethiopia and will become a key event in the youth agenda of Russia’s BRICS Chairmanship in 2024.
Interested participants can apply using the platform of Rosmolodezh AIS. To apply, participants need to create an account on the platform and complete their profile. After the completion of the profile, application form for the BRICS Youth Summit will then be available in the international events section. Tatyana Ivshina, head of the Project Office for International Youth Cooperation “Russia-BRICS”, executive director of the Creative Industries Fund of the Ulyanovsk Region, provided a detailed overview of the program for the tenth anniversary Summit.
Diana Kovela, Deputy Head of the Project Office, moderated the meeting, urging active young leaders to promptly fill out the participation form before the deadline of June 10.
“In 2020, the Ulyanovsk region already hosted the BRICS youth summit. And this year it is no coincidence that Ulyanovsk was once again chosen as the venue for the Summit, because it has everything necessary to organize a meeting of young leaders at a decent level. I ask everyone who considers themselves an active young leader to fill out the form to participate in the Summit without delaying it. Registration will last until June 10,” addressed Diana Kovela to the audience.
The session observed the participation of government officials, employees of Russian federal agencies, specialists in the field of international relations and future diplomats and students of Russian universities, who had the opportunity to learn about the prospects for BRICS youth cooperation, plans for 2024, as well as get acquainted with the activities of the Project Office for International Youth Cooperation in the field of "Russia-BRICS".
Akil Mohammad, Deputy Head of the Project Office and Founder and Chairperson of the International Youth Edu-Skills foundation (IYESF) was also present in the Presentation.
Kira Ivanova, coordinator of the Project Office, shared successful experiences and flagship projects for 2024 of Project Office.
Valeria Chernogorodova, head of the international activities department of the Youth Projects and Programs of the Federal Agency for Youth Affairs, spoke about the interaction of Rosmolodezh with the BRICS countries and plans for the year.
Other speakers included Alena Korobochkina, Candidate of Sciences, academic director of the master's program “Cross-cultural studies of Asia and Africa in the context of international relations” at the Institute of Oriental and African Studies of the National Research University Higher School of Economics in St. Petersburg, and Artyom Miroshnikov, Minister of Youth Development of the Ulyanovsk Region.
“The development of international youth cooperation is one of the priorities of the region’s youth policy, and we are truly honored by the trust placed in holding the BRICS youth summit in the region. The Ulyanovsk region has the infrastructure to implement events of this scale, and the experience of previous years proves this. Our region is unique in terms of its natural component. We are the birthplace of talent and a region that is proud of its history. Of course, the holding of international events and such development takes place with the direct participation of the Governor of the Ulyanovsk region Alexey Russkikh and the entire government,” mentioned Artem Miroshnikov.

Let us recall that on January 1, 2024, Russia took over the baton of BRICS chairmanship, which, according to the decision of the XV BRICS summit approved in August last year, now includes 10 states. This year, Egypt, Iran, the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia and Ethiopia joined BRICS as new full members.
