Within the framework of the humanitarian track of the Program "BRICS People Choosing Life" co-organised by IYES Foundation with RPO "BRICS. World of Traditions", the presentations of the Program and the project "Great BRICS Teachers" were held at seven educational institutions of Mumbai and Pune. The project was implemented by the Regional Public Organization "BRICS. World of Traditions" in the countries of the "five" from 2008 to 2019 in the format of a five-sided baton of peacekeeping cultural and research expeditions "Great BRICS Teacher".
The meeting was moderated by the Dean of the Faculty of Civics and Politics of Mumbai University, Deepak Pawar, who warmly communicated with the members of the delegation before the event in the presence of professors and lecturers of the University.
The Guests of Honor from the Russian side were the Deputy Consul General of Russia in Mumbai Sergey Meshcheryakov, Head of the Russian House in Mumbai Elena Remizova, President of the Regional Public Organization "BRICS. World of Traditions", manager of the program Lyudmila Sekacheva, members of the Russian-Indian delegation.
According to the guests, it was especially important to hold the presentation of the Program and Project “Great BRICS Teachers” at one of the oldest universities in India, the continuer of Indian cultural and educational traditions and the guardian of the moral values of the great Indian people.
The topic of student youth participation in the program "BRICS People Choosing Life" as well as the project "Great BRICS Teachers” to preserve and popularize the moral heritage of Mahatma Gandhi and Leo Tolstoy was hotly discussed at the meeting.
This was also pointed out in the speech by the co-organizer of the Program, member of the delegation Akil Mohammad, who made special emphasis on further cooperation with the University of Mumbai in this regard.
Journalist Anastasia Shkitina actively communicated with students, MGIMO University Master’s student Dmitry Kurbatov provided high-level synchronized translation, and cameraman Dmitry Chiglintsev conducted top-quality video shooting for the future film about the Indian stage of the Program.
