The BRICS summit is the central event within the framework of the Russian Federation's chairmanship of BRICS, which started on January 1, 2024. BRICS is an interstate association, a union of ten countries: Brazil, Russia, India, the People's Republic of China, (since 2010) South Africa, (since 2024) the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, Iran, Egypt and Ethiopia. The motto of the Russian chairmanship in the association is “Strengthening multilateralism for equitable global development and security.”
