On 2nd May 2022, an Online Quiz Competition On World Heritage was organized by INTERNATIONAL YOUTH EDU-SKILLS FOUNDATION (International Foundation for the Improvement of Education and Skills among Youth) which was announced by IYES Foundation on 18th April to celebrate World Heritage Day. The topic of the quiz was: “Heritage and Climate”. The language of the competition was English and all students of all age groups participated in the competition.
The main goal of celebrating World Heritage Day was to preserve the world heritage for the next generation and make a consistent effort in front of the world.
As of 2015, 1031 sites around the world have been listed as World Heritage Sites by UNESCO. UNESCO gives these sites the World Heritage Fund. All these sites have 802 cultural categories, 197 natural places, and 32 mixed sites. World Heritage Day is celebrated to create awareness about these sites of the world.
This quiz competition is aimed at raising awareness among the future generation of our planet.
The topic for this quiz competition is the theme of World Heritage Day 2022 “Heritage and Climate”.
The Quiz Competition took place on the online proctoring platform “Eklavya”, And the assessment was done by the software itself, any participant who used unfair means was disqualified. The quiz competition consists of 20 questions, each correct answer leads to marks 10 marks and each wrong answer leads to 1 negative mark. Various students across the globe participated in the event and the highest scorer is announced as the winner. This competition was only for school students, so university students who participated in the event were disqualified.
Among all the participants, Vineet Detha, a Student of St. Anne’s Sr. Sec. School, Jodhpur, Rajasthan is announced as the winner of the competition, as he scored the highest marks among all eligible candidates.
The winner of the competition will be awarded a winning certificate and exciting prizes and all participants will get a certificate of participation.
The competition was coordinated by Mr. Rahul Sharma, Director, Regional and International Projects, IYES Foundation and moderated by Shraddha Agarwal, Manager for International Activities & Partnerships, IYES Foundation.
