The University of Twente Scholarship (UTS) is a scholarship for excellent students from non-EU/EEA countries applying for a Master's degree at the University of Twente.
Scholarship Value
€ 3,000 - € 22,000 for one year (approximately 50 scholarships available). If you have applied for a two-year programme, make sure you read the information about two-year study programmes below.

Please note: This scholarship is meant as a compensation for study related costs. It is up to the scholarship student to decide how to spend the money. No costs (e.g. tuition fees) will be paid on your behalf.
Application requirements
To be eligible for the University of Twente Scholarship, you must meet all the requirements below.
Applying for a UT scholarship is a separate procedure from applying for admission to courses at the University of Twente. Regardless of the funding, you will first need to receive a letter of admission to the academy.
You have been (temporarily) admitted to one of UT's qualifying Master's programs beginning in the 2024/2025 academic year (September).
Please note: After completing your application, it may take up to 8 weeks before you receive the results.
You must have a student number.
You have not completed the UT (under) Master's Degree program;
You comply with the conditions for obtaining an entry visa to the Netherlands (if applicable);
You meet the requirements of the General English language test Academic IELTS 6.5 (or TOEFL iBT 90) and additional 6.0 (TOEFL iBT 20) for the subgroup of conversational skills.
You are not eligible for a student loan in the Netherlands;
The University of Twente Scholarship is a scholarship for excellent students. This usually means that you belong to the top 5-10 percent of your class.
The UTS scholarship is not available for Dutch and/or current UT students.
The UTS scholarship is not available for EU/EEA students.
The UTS Scholarship is not available for Master's degree programs at the Faculty of Geoinformatics and Earth Observation (ITC).
The UTS Scholarship is not available for the Master's Degree program. Students preparing for a UTS Master's degree also cannot apply for a UTS scholarship if they want to continue their studies in a Master's degree.

The deadline for submitting applications is Round 1:

Acceptance of applications ends on February 1, 2024 at 16.00 Central European time (for programs starting in September 2024)
The deadline for submitting applications is Round 2:
The application form opens on February 1, 2024 at 16.00 Central European time
The application closes on May 1, 2024 at 16.00 Central European time (for programs starting in September 2024)
If you applied in Round 1 and your application was rejected, the application in the second round will not be considered. You can only be awarded one UT scholarship.
How to apply
You must first apply for a Master's degree program. After you have applied for a master's program and received a (conditional) acceptance letter, you can apply for a scholarship by specifying your student number. The UTS scholarship is not available for Dutch and/or current UT students. The UTS scholarship is not available for EU/EEA students. UTS is not available for Master's degree programs at the Faculty of Geoinformatics and Earth Observation (ITC). UTS is not available for the preliminary Master's program.
