The Alexander Gorchakov Public Diplomacy Fund’s 12th Research and Educational Programme “Dialogue in the Name of the Future” will take place in Moscow on November 27 – December 3 in person. The main topic of this year's programme is “The 100th anniversary of the USSR: the future as collaborative creation”.
In less than two months, the programme will once again bring together young scholars in the area of international relations, political scientists, journalists, researchers and civil society activists representing dozens of countries around the world. Leading Russian and foreign experts in the field of foreign policy, diplomats, statesmen and businessmen, scientists and cultural figures will share assessment of the major world events of the outgoing year, predict their development in 2023, and try to answer the questions that concern millions of people today.
Integration processes in the post-Soviet world are complex and contradictory. The states formed after the collapse of the Soviet Union are looking for forms and ways to jointly solve the many problems associated with the desire to provide a decent life and future for their citizens. Today, the geopolitical environment remains complex. The economy is again threatened by a global crisis. How will integration projects in the world develop?
Participants of the Dialogue will discuss how economic convergence will create a foundation for closer cooperation and the removal of cultural and other contradictions. Will what is happening today lead to a commonality of interests and goals, as well as to commonality of understanding? How will Eurasian cooperation rise in international status, lead to deep integration and interface with other global projects? And why is the experience of the Soviet Union so important for those living one hundred years after its creation?
Traditionally, a meeting between Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov and the Dialogue participants is the key part of the programme.
