YYGS is pleased to offer resident classes in June, July and August 2024.
Yale Young Global Scholars (YYGS) is an academic professional development program for outstanding high school students from around the world. Every summer, students from more than 150 countries (including all 50 US states) participate in one interdisciplinary two-week session on the historic campus of Yale University.
The curriculum is focused on collaboration, introducing participants to innovative topics and facilitating student discussions based on international perspectives. Students have the opportunity to participate in STEM, Social Sciences, Humanities, or an interdisciplinary field.
Acceptability
To apply to YYGS, candidates MUST meet all of the following requirements:
Age - Be between the ages of 16-18 by July 21, 2024 (the first day of Session III).*
Fluency in English - To be able to participate in a rigorous academic program conducted in English.
The grade level is to be currently a high school sophomore or junior high school student (or international equivalent).
End Date - Ends in May/June 2025 or 2026 in the Northern Hemisphere or in November/December 2024 or 2025 in the Southern Hemisphere.
YYGS Participation - Become the first YYGS participant. If you participated in the YYGS session last summer (2023 and earlier), then you are not eligible to participate in YYGS 2024. Please note: If you have previously applied for participation in YYGS, but you were not offered to enroll or you could not attend, and you meet the selection criteria listed above, then you are recommended to re-apply for participation in YYGS 2024.
YYGS accepts applications from ALL countries and provides students with the opportunity to apply for financial assistance depending on the needs of students from ALL countries.
