The Russian Council for International Affairs (RIAC), together with the Union of Journalists of Russia and the magazine "International Life" with the support of the Interfax news agency, the magazine "Russia in Global Politics" and the Gorchakov Foundation, is holding the eleventh season of the Competition of International Journalists 2023.


The partners of the Contest are the TASS news agency, the independent pedagogical publication "Teacher's Newspaper", the media holding "Expert", the partner of the nomination for young journalists is the ANO "School Press Center".


The finalists of the competition will have a one-day educational program, which will be held in Moscow at the Gorchakov Foundation. Leading Russian international journalists will hold master classes for them: they will tell you how to work in the modern information field and competently cover key events.


A special prize of the Gorchakov Foundation — a certificate that allows you to take part in any event of the Foundation during 2023 to cover the costs of travel, accommodation and meals within the framework of the project — will be awarded to a part of the finalists of the competition, which will be determined by the Foundation.


Dates of the event

  • Applications for the competition are accepted until August 31, 2023.

  • Preliminary results of the competition will be announced in October 2023.


Who can participate? *

  • Full-time employees and other authors of Russian print and electronic media or students studying at universities at the time of application;

  • Under the age of 36 at the time of application;

  • Those who published the material in the period from 01.08.2022 to 31.08.2023;

  • Only Russian citizens are allowed to participate in the competition.

* Works prepared by one author are allowed to participate in the competition. Articles written in co-authorship do not participate in the competition. One participant can submit only one work to the competition.


What works can be submitted?

Materials on international issues in four categories are accepted for participation in the competition:

  • The best analytical article;

  • The best interview;

  • Best reportage;

  • The best analytical article on international issues by a novice international journalist (among students studying at universities at the time of application). **


** Works published by students in the Russian printed and (or) electronic edition of a higher educational institution, on the Internet portal of a higher educational institution and (or) a non-profit organization engaged in scientific and analytical activities are allowed to participate in the competition.


Prizes

  1. The winners will be awarded cash prizes and commemorative badges.

  2. The prize fund is 200,000 rubles .

  3. A special prize of the Gorchakov Foundation — a certificate that allows you to take part in any event of the Foundation during 2023 to cover the costs of travel, accommodation and meals within the framework of the project — will be awarded to a part of the finalists of the competition, which will be determined by the Foundation.

Allowed formats: For articles / interviews/ reports — MS Word, PDF.


Important!

Text materials submitted for the contest in the categories "article", "reportage" and "interview" must be published in a Russian printed and (or) electronic publication registered in the Russian Federation as a mass media.
